Instructions

    • 1

Select an airtight plastic storage container that measures about 16 inches long by 8 inches in width. This is to accommodate a standard, wrapped loaf of bread.

    • 2

Place the loaf of bread, covered, into the plastic storage container. If you're storing homemade bread that isn't prepackaged in plastic, you can place the bread into the container with the bag. The plastic doesn't have to wrap the bread.

    • 3

Snap the lid onto the container firmly. An airtight container will make snapping noises around all sides as the lid is secured.

    • 4

Lift up one end of the lid to squeeze out the excess air, and then snap it back into place.

    • 5

Store the plastic bin containing the bread in a cool, dry place. It can be left out on the counter or put in a pantry for ease of access. You can also refrigerate the packaged bread to keep it fresher.
