Insert a superscript number at the end of the word, phrase or sentence for which you wish to provide a citation. The first time you cite in your paper use the numeral "1" and cite subsequent entries in ascending order. Be sure that the superscript number comes after any punctuation. If you are citing material without putting it into your own words, be sure to put it in quotation marks
List the same superscript number you used within the text of your paper on a separate page titled "Notes." The citation corresponds to this number to allow the reader to refer back and forth between the text of the paper and the endnotes.
