The Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) was named one of U.S. News & World Report's best regional colleges of the West and one of the best engineering colleges in 2011. The OIT offers programs that are designed to help students prepare for careers in technology. Some of the areas of study include health professions, information technology, engineering, environmental science, renewable energy business and management and software design. The College of Cosmetology is a private, for-profit college in Klamath Falls. This college offers certificates, and professional degrees in beauty and cosmetology. The Oregon State University Extension is also known as the College of Agricultural Sciences of the Oregon State University. It is the principal agricultural research agency of the state of Oregon. Klamath Community College (KCC) is a two-year college accredited through the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities. In order to be admitted, an applicant must have a graduate from a regionally accredited high school, a GED, Certificate of Equivalency or an Adult High School Diploma. KCC can be a steppingstone to a four-year college. It also offers degree courses for administrative office professionals, agriculture, automotive technology, business administration, construction management, criminal justice, diesel technology, health sciences and early and childhood education. Tuition fee is $68 per credit hour for in-state students, $146 per credit hour for out-of-state students and $176 per credit hour for international students.
