Oregon State University established its Cascades Campus in Bend, Oregon, in September 2001, and the college had granted more than 1,400 degrees as of August 2010. The college offers 11 undergraduate majors at the campus, including American history, art, business administration, mathematics, psychology and tourism. Also offered are Master of Science in Counseling degrees in school and clinical counseling and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees in early childhood and elementary and middle and high school.
The school features international internships and study abroad opportunities for Cascades Campus students. Federal and state financial aid, work-study and institutional scholarships are available for qualified students. Students also can participate in seven intramural sports teams and more than eight student clubs and organizations. On-campus housing is available.

Home to more than 17,500 full- and part-time students, Central Oregon Community College shares its campus with Oregon State University Cascades Campus. The school grants associate degrees and certificates in a variety of fields, including accounting, nursing, automotive technology, business administration, criminal justice, dental and medical assisting, fire science and geographic information systems. The school also offers general education associate degree programs designed to help students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution to complete entry-level courses.
Approximately 51 percent of full-time students at Central Oregon Community College receive some type of financial aid, reports the college's website. Job placement assistance is available for all students. In addition, the college has intramural sports teams and more than 12 student organizations. The college also has limited housing available on-campus.

In addition to its main campus in La Grande, Eastern Oregon University operates a satellite office location in Bend, Oregon. The office serves as an advising and career counseling center for Bend-area students enrolled in Eastern Oregon's online degree programs. Options available through this distance education program include baccalaureate degrees in anthropology, business administration, economics, English, liberal studies, philosophy and politics and psychology. A Master of Science in education degree program is also available.
Study abroad opportunities and international externships are offered for students in the online programs. Students must visit the office in Bend at least once per semester to meet with their local adviser, but can come more frequently to use the center's computer lab or meet with classmates for special projects. Federal and state loans and grants and institutional scholarships are available for eligible students.
