Southern Oregon Community Colleges

For many students, community colleges are an affordable alternative to 4-year institutions. Several community colleges in southern Oregon serve residents of both southern Oregon and Northern California. In addition to associate degrees, certificates and college transfer programs, these community colleges offer a variety of community education, workforce training and personal enrichment opportunities.
  1. Southwestern Oregon Community College

    • Southwestern Oregon Community College offers a variety of degree and certificate programs, as well as continuing education and personal enrichment classes. The college has a testing center for placement and testing services, including the GED, and a Center for Business Excellence that offers business development and training resources. Classes are offered on the main campus in Coos Bay, at the Curry Campus in Curry County and online.

    Klamath Community College

    • Klamath Community College (KCC) offers credit and noncredit classes on its main campus and at other community locations. KCC also partners with Oregon Institute of Technology to provide a full range of services to its students. Class size is small and the student-instructor ratio low. Certificate and degree programs include various aspects of business, technology, health care, education, criminal justice, social services, vocational training and general studies.

    Rogue Community College

    • Since 1970, Rogue Community College (RCC) has served area residents at its three campuses in Grants Pass, Medford and White City as well as several satellite locations throughout the community. Total enrollment for the 2009--2010 year was 19,000 students. RCC offers five two-year degrees, 50 training programs and workforce and short-term training. Students can also receive assistance with academic skills or take noncredit community education or personal enrichment classes.

    Umpqua Community College

    • Located in picturesque Douglas County, Umpqua Community College offers commuters easy access from Interstate 5. The college serves more than 15,000 part-time and full-time students each year. A full range of degree, certificate and apprenticeship programs are available, as well as specialized training, academic support and programs for adult learners, high school students and distance learning.
