The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Indira Gandhi National Open University have teamed up to offer a three-year bachelor of science program in hospitality and hotel management. Classroom knowledge and laboratory work are both used to teach students all they need to know about food production, food and beverage service, front office operation and housekeeping. Students are also educated in finances, human resources, law, sales, marketing, supervision and tourism as applicable to hotel management. Courses are taught on multiple campuses including its main campus at New Delhi. A master of science degree and various diploma and certificate courses are also available.
The Mumbai College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has several degree and certificate offerings. Two-year programs include master of business administration in hotel management, master of science in hotel management, postgraduate diploma in hotel management and diploma in hotel management and catering technology. Three-year degrees include bachelor of science in hotel management and tourism, and bachelor of science in hotel management and catering operation. Part-time and distance education options are offered. Scholarships are offered to foreign students.
The college is recognized by the Maharashtra State Vocational Education Examination Board. Twelve-month certificate courses ending in board examinations are offered in hotel management and catering technology, food production and bakery and confectionary. Six-month certificate courses include certificates in food and beverage management, travel and tourism management, retail management and housekeeping.
The Birla Institute of Technology has a highly regarded department of hotel management and catering technology located in Mesra, Ranchi in the state of Jharkland, India. The four-year bachelor's degree in hotel management and catering technology includes six months of practical training in star hotels. Other short-term programs are offered by the department.
Located in Chennai, India, the Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. It has been promoted by many of the star hotels in the area. Offerings include the three-year diploma in hotel management and catering technology and bachelor of science degree in hospitality and hotel administration; one-year certificate courses in food production, food and beverage service and housekeeping; and one-year craft courses in food production.
The school's sister educational establishment Empee Institute of Hospitality Management is accredited to the American Hotel and Lodging Association. The Institute has signed a memorandum of understanding with Schiller International University in Largo, Florida for diploma holders to be eligible to obtain higher degrees in international hospitality and tourism.
