The Google Maps website lists at least 20 hotel management colleges near Hyderabad. Many are affiliates of Osmania University, and are offshoots of a tourism boom in India and the rest of the world. This boom has opened many opportunities for careers in Hotel Management. The hotel, catering and allied industries now employ almost 2.5 million people in India, and an increasing number all over the world. Hyderabad, capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh and one of the largest metropolis areas of India, has been able to cash in on this boom through development of its human resources.
  1. Pioneer Institute of Hotel Management

    • The Pioneer Institute of Hotel Management (PIHM) is one of three in the Pioneer Group of Institutions, the other two being the Institute of Food Technology and the Institute of Craft Courses. It was established in 2000 as an affiliate of the State Board of Technical Education & Training and Osmania University, the seventh oldest in India. PIHM is in the center of Hyderabad and offers a three-year course leading to a bachelor's degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The course objective is to give students the managerial, technical and human relations skills needed to successfully operate hotels and catering establishments. The school interacts closely with industry and helps students with loans, scholarships and job placements after graduation.

    Regency College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology

    • Established in 1994, the Regency College of Hotel Management is one of the first colleges in Hyderabad to offer a three-year degree program in hotel management. The college helps develop the personalities of its students so they can better serve hotel customers. It also enhances what is learned in school with actual on-the-job training in hotels. The major functions of hotel management such as food and beverage service, food production, accommodation operations and front office are covered as general subjects and as fields of specialization. The institute has 14,000 square feet of space allocated to: an audio-visual room, a computer lab and a library; and, for simulated training, a kitchen, bakery, fine-dining restaurant, front office and bedroom. Its faculty members have experience working for hotels, airlines and cruise lines in India and abroad.

    • Blooms College was established in the 1990s by philanthropist doctors and engineers who formed the Barathi Educational & Cultural Society.
