Colleges in Arizona That Have Criminal Justice Degrees

The study of criminal justice includes programs that range from certificates to master's and Ph.D. degrees. Crime scene technicians, police officers and border control officers are hired with certificates, while detectives and criminal investigators require a minimum of a bachelor's degree as a criteria for employment. Several schools in Arizona offer a choice of degrees in criminal justice.
  1. Brown Mackie College

    • Brown Mackie College's two locations, Phoenix and Tucson, offer criminal justice programs, awarding associate and bachelor's degrees. Associate degree courses take approximately two years to complete, and a bachelor's degree requires approximately four years of study. Paralegal studies are also offered as an associate degree. The educational approach at the college is directed toward students concentrating their studies in a one-course-per-month structure.

    ITT Technical Institute

    • ITT Technical Institute's four Arizona campuses, in Phoenix, West Phoenix, Tempe and Tucson, have associate and bachelor's degree programs in criminal justice. Cyber crime, aviation security, forensics and crime scene investigation are some of the courses in the associate program. Criminalistics, victimology and computer forensics are advanced courses in the four-year bachelor's degree program. A bachelor's degree takes 15 quarters of study, and day and evening classes are scheduled.

    Kaplan College

    • Kaplan College's Phoenix campus includes a criminal justice program in its curriculum which leads to an associate degree. Homeland and private security, juvenile detention, border patrol and loss prevention are a few of the careers open to holders of an associate's degree in criminal justice. Day and evening classes and help with job placement are offered.

    University of Phoenix

    • The University of Phoenix College of Criminal Justice and Security is a four-year institution offering bachelor and master's degrees. Two tracks are available within the bachelor' degree criminal justice program: criminal justice administration and organizational security and management. The introduction of digital studies to these programs is one of the advancements of the 21st century that is included in the curriculum.

    Arizona State University

    • Arizona State University's downtown Phoenix campus has a criminal justice program. Courses in the major can also be taken at the Tempe campus. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience, the four-year bachelor's degree program is the basic coursework required for entry into the master's and Ph.D. degree programs offered at the University. Students in the program are eligible to intern with local criminal justice agencies while receiving course credit.
