The Everest Institute is a technical college that offers a great deal of courses, including education for electricians. The institute has a modernized lab for electrician training and education. The program's three semester objective is to provide an electrician the education to install and maintain electrical systems--as well as giving the electrician enough flexibility to pursue a variety of areas of entry-level employment. Included in the education is basic electrical theory and concepts, national electrical code and commercial wiring. This leads into power distribution, motors and advanced code concept including blueprinting. Finally, you will learn industrial controls, advanced industrial concepts and computer-based control technology.

Pennco Tech is a technical school with a small range of technical fields of study that includes training in electrical systems. The electrician program provides an extensive instruction in fundamental power and wiring. The program studies residential, commercial and industrial application, but it also specializes in motors and motor circuits, transformers and service. This includes the skills on installation and repair of electric apparatus, DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution systems. Graduates may also have the opportunity to work in entry level positions through the school including new construction projects, restoration sites, or industrial and commercial maintenance positions.

Lincoln Tech is a technical school that has several campuses throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The school is accredited nationally and features state licensing, career education and career placement. Lincoln Tech's objective is to give graduates a competitive edge as they enter the work force. Lincoln Tech offers programs in in automotive skills (automotive, collision repair, and diesel) and health services (medical assistant, administration, pharmacy tech, dental, and nursing) as well as skilled trades such as HVAC and drafting. Electronic systems technician, electrician and electronic engineering are available in the Connecticut campuses. There are six different campuses throughout northern and southern New Jersey.
