Online Holistic Healing Schools

Holistic health care is based on the belief a person's physical health is affected by physical, spiritual and mental aspects of life. Therefore, a person's health issues should be evaluated with these varying aspects in mind, tailoring treatments to address these needs. Schools offering online training programs in holistic health and healing include Clayton College, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and Kaplan College.
  1. Clayton College

    • Clayton College offers the following online degrees in holistic health: Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition, Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition, Master of Arts in Holistic Wellness, and Doctor of Education in Holistic Health and Wellness.

      Bachelor students must have a high school diploma or have completed General Education Development (GED) requirements. Students can transfer credits from other accredited institutions of higher education.

      Courses are taken in 16-week terms, and some require a proctor.

      Clayton College is licensed by the Alabama Department of Post-Secondary Education and has been awarded the Quality Standards Certification by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). Graduates of the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program are eligible to apply for a national board credential and register with The National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP). The International Organization of Nutritional Consultants has approved Clayton College's Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program.

    Institute for Integrative Nutrition

    • The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) offers a diploma from the school upon completion of the curriculum and qualifies graduates for a certificate from Purchase College of The State University of New York (SUNY) and for national certification by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

      Students of IIN are equipped with a customized iPod that has audio and video classes from reputable experts. Guest lecturers include Deepak Chopra, Andrew Weil, M.D., and Mark Hyman, M.D.

      The Institute for Integrative Nutrition teaches nutrition, coaching, business, eating habits, and lifestyle choices. The curriculum includes nutrition concepts, modern health issues, anatomy and physiology, health coaching, healthy eating and living, and professional practice.       IIN is licensed to operate under the terms of section 5001 through 5010 of the Education Law of the State of New York.

    Kaplan University

    • Kaplan University offers the following online degrees in holistic health: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Health and Wellness, Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness, Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science, and Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science.

      The Bachelor of Science degrees in Health and Wellness and Nutrition Science are 180 credit hours each and require four years of full-time study. The Advanced Start versions of those programs are 90 credit hours each and require two years of full-time study. The Advanced Start option is for those with a preexisting associate or bachelor's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university.

      Kaplan University is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) and accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) .
