Schools for CDL Truck Driver Training

Truck drivers who operate trucks carrying hazardous or over-sized loads or with a gross vehicle weight exceeding 26,000 pounds must have a commercial driver's license (CDL). Driver training courses receive accreditation certification from The Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI). According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CDL drivers earned a median hourly wage in 2008 of $17.92 with a 13 percent job growth projected through 2018.
