Esthetician Schools

Although estheticians and cosmetologists often are mistaken for each other, an esthetician is a professional who has undergone specialized education and training in the skin care therapy field. Estheticians are licensed and may find work in the movie industry as makeup artists, or they may hang out their own shingle and work freelance. The United States Department of Labor projects a continued 20 percent increase in employment in the field of "personal appearance workers" through the year 2018. Schools across the country offer both esthetician licensing for new students and continuing education programs for current professionals.
