The program requires six courses, including investments, finance for the non-financial manager, life insurance, international finance, financial management and risk management. The program may also be completed online.
No education or experience is required to enroll; the university recommends the certificate program for new financial managers and current financial management professionals who wish to update their skills.

Complete three courses through the Indiana University School of Continuing Studies to earn a certificate in health care accounting and financial management. The courses, which must be taken sequentially, include introduction to financial accounting, intermediate health care accounting and health care budgeting and cost analysis. Students who have already completed an accounting class may request it to count as credit for the introduction to accounting class. The program is conducted online; students may apply the courses toward an associate's degree or bachelor's degree at Indiana University upon completion.
Students are not required to apply to Indiana University to complete the certificate program; no educational requirement is necessary, but the school recommends persons have experience in the accounting, health care, finance and administration field.
