Snowmobile Repair Schools

Schools that specialize in snowmobile repair generally will teach students how to deal with electrical systems, engines, transmissions, fuel systems and all other mechanical problems associated with these machines. Some of these courses will need to be taken on campus, and others can be done via long-distance learning. Most students will receive a certificate of completion once they successfully finish the course work.
  1. Wyoming Technical Institute

    • The Wyoming Technical Institute’s Marine Specialist Program offers students an off-road power concentration. This concentration focuses on the mechanical systems of all types of all-terrain vehicles, including snowmobiles and personal water crafts. Students will learn how to test, repair and diagnose issues.

      Students will also learn how to diagnose, test and repair electrical system problems. Course work includes diesel engines, propulsion systems, transmissions and electronics.

      This course prepares students for careers as technicians, engine builders or parts application and development professionals. Students will receive a certificate of completion.

      There are campuses in the following locations: Blairsville, Pennsylvania; Daytona, Florida; Fremont, California; Sacramento, California; Laramie, Wyoming; and Long Beach, California.

    Ohio Technical College

    • The Ohio Technical College’s PowerSport Technician program teaches students how to work on all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. Course work includes learning about internal combustion engines, transmissions, drive operations, fuel systems, suspension and electrical systems. Students will learn to work on vehicles made by all the major ATV and snowmobile manufacturers, including Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda.

      These classes are hands-on, meaning that students will be working on real vehicles. The goal of this program is to prepare students for a career as motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile repair technicians

    Penn Foster Career School

    • The Penn Foster Career School is a long-distance learning school, and it offers diploma, certificate and degree programs. The Auto Repair Technician program teaches students how to work on motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles, and this program is a certificate program.

      The goal of this program is to prepare students to work in a garage or even start their own business. Course work includes learning about electrical systems, engine computers, fuel systems, exhausts, brakes, transmissions, axles and differentials.

      Students also will learn how to do front-end alignments and how to rebuild or repair engines. The cost of admission includes all books, a tool kit, teacher assistance and access to the website. The school will also send students ASE Exam Preparation and ESCO EPA Preparation books.
