Indoor Cycle Instructor Certification

Indoor Cycle Instructor Certification is designed for fitness enthusiasts who want to enrich their teaching abilities to give students an enjoyable exercising experience. The program provides a detailed regimen of cycling tips and skills to give instructors an overall prospective of indoor cycling for all levels.
  1. Objective

    • Prospective instructors will understand the importance of a successful cycling class by learning the various techniques in indoor cycling. The program may be completed in as little as two days or up to six months. Topics discussed include designing a safe cycling class, endurance techniques, speed and strength, studio setup and design.

    Prerequisites

    • Additional prerequisites for this program may vary depending on each state, but the standard requirements include that all participants enrolled must be of legal age (18 years or older) and must hold a CPR license.

    Curriculum

    • During the program, students will be able to take courses, including anatomy/ kinesiology, exercise science, diet and nutrition, cycle training workouts, muscle conditioning, teaching skills and development, and general prevention and treatment of injuries.

    Certification Exam

    • Upon completion of the program, students can take the certification exam, which is issued by several associations, including The National Fitness Professional Association, American Fitness Professionals & Associates, and Nautilus Institute. The exam may be administered through a written and/or a practical or demonstration format. The written exam may include up to 80 open-ended questions, while the practical exa is used to test students on bicycle assembly and developing a cycling class.
