Technical Schools in Anaheim, California

Anaheim, California, the second-most populated city in Orange County and the 10th-largest city in the state, is home to a number of large and small technical schools that can accommodate anywhere from a dozen to hundreds of students at a time. The schools teach a variety of skills, including ones needed in the medical, accounting and engineering fields.
  1. Summit Career College

    • The Anaheim campus of Summit Career College offers programs in several areas, including: legal office assistant; licensed vocational nurse; administrative and clinical medical assistant; medical billing and coding; dental assistant; and welding technician. The college's other campus, in Colton, offers an additional program, accounting assistant. The school, which offers both day and evening classes, also has career counselors who help graduating students find jobs.

    SoCal Institute of Technology

    • The Southern California Institute of Technology offers seven-month diploma programs in the electrician, biomedical technology, information technology, accounting and administrative assistant fields. The school also has bachelor's degree programs in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering, computer science, accounting and business management. The degree programs are accelerated, meaning they can be completed in under three years, instead of the standard four-year time period.

    Brownson Technical School

    • Brownson Technical School provides instruction in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field, commonly referred to as HVAC. BTS offers three programs. The first is HVAC, where students learn the history of refrigeration and HVAC, as well as fundamentals of the industry, safety measures, electrical skills, troubleshooting and repair. The second program is commercial refrigeration and air conditioning, where the above skills are taught, as well as measuring superheat and subcooling and the repair of ice-making equipment. The third program, direct digital control, includes instruction in the workings of computerized systems used to keep energy costs low.

    SoCal School of Floral Design

    • The Southern California School of Floral Design, located next to a full-service retail flower shop, offers basic and advanced classes in floral design for decor, weddings and special events. To graduate, a certain number of hours must be met in each class; for instance, the floral designer class is a total of 80 hours. Class sizes are limited to between 16 and 18 students. The school also provides instruction in flower shop management.
