A private college system focused on technical fields, ITT Technical Institute has over 105 campuses nationwide. ITT Technical Institute offers six schools of study: School of Information Technology, School of Drafting and Design, School of Electronics Technology, School of Business, School of Criminal Justice and School of Health Sciences. The Tampa campus offers 17 associate's and bachelor's degrees. Programs include the following: nursing, criminal justice, paralegal, construction management, computer drafting and design, visual communications, software development technology, information systems security, project management and more.

A part of the Hillsborough County Public Schools System, the Erwin Technical Center offers part and full-time training in business, heath, design and industrial careers. Generally, full-time courses are offered during the day, and part-time classes are offered during the evening. Some of the programs offered include the following: air conditioning, automotive technology, carpentry, plumbing, welding, computer repair and networking, culinary arts and more. The Erwin Technical Center also has a learning center that provides tutors for those who need additional help and for those who are preparing to take the Test of the Adult Basic Education. These tutors work to help students receive the scores needed to enter into a technical academic program. Students outside of Erwin's school district have four courses available to them: automotive repair, computer repair, cosmetology and dental.

A private accredited school with three locations, Southwest Florida College offers students certificate, associate's and bachelor's degree programs. The college offers an accelerated learning track that allows students to get an Associate's degree in only a year and a half and a bachelor's degree in three years. Southwest Florida College students can study the following topics: computer aided drafting and design, interior design, business, education, information technology, digital design, criminal justice/legal studies and allied health. Those in the allied health program, for instance, can earn a diploma in medical assistant, medical billing, health information technology, surgical technician and more.
