The northernmost college along the Oregon Coast, Clatsop Community College includes the Marine and Environmental Research Training Station training facilities, a "one stop shopping center" for coastal and environmental studies. In its program materials, CCC notes that the Marine and Environmental Research Training Station is "growing into the most comprehensive industrial and marine technology center in the Pacific Northwest." The facilities include a biological wastewater treatment plant and a fire response and treatment center. Additional CCC programs offer workforce training, small business management guidance, as well as public and community safety training.
Located along the central coast in Tillamook, Oregon, this community college offers associate's degrees in science, culinary arts, criminal justice, alcohol and drug counseling, family studies, fire protection and diagnostic imaging, among other disciplines. The campus offers a skills development program for adult basic skills, GED prep classes, adult literacy, ESL and adult credit recovery. Additionally, the continuing education program provides courses in computers, creative arts, home and garden, ecology, parenting skills, finance and fitness. Small business development workshops are also available, with focuses on QuickBooks training, OSHA guidelines and social networking.
Located on the central Oregon coast, this Newport-based community college offers a variety of career and technical education programs, including a transition course for licensed practical nurses. In 2005, OCCC began a new program in aquarium sciences, offering a two-year degree or a one-year certificate. Students in this program take advantage of the college's proximity to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, less than two miles from OCCC. Standard courses at this campus include distance learning programs and basic studies in English, mathematics, criminal justice, computer science and psychology.
This campus in Coos Bay marks the southernmost facility along the Oregon Coast. This campus provides a variety of certificate programs, including the GED as well as business development services, continuing education, distance learning and transitional education courses in reading, writing and mathematics. The Career Pathways program provides certification in fire sciences, welding, childhood education, marketing, computer information systems and for medical aides. Available degrees include associate's degrees in general studies, the arts, applied science and business. An Oregon Transfer Module is also available for students transferring into the Oregon state university system.
