How to Get Certified to Install Wood Stoves

Consumers who want to save on energy costs may opt to install a wood-burning stove, which provides zone heating to a home. According to Ace, wood-burning stoves operate at an energy efficiency rating of 40 percent to 65 percent, comparable to a furnace, which typically operates at 70 percent efficiency. Certified technicians are trained to perform all safety procedures required for proper installation of a wood-burning stove. The National Fireplace Institute (NFI) is the leading certification agency to obtain a wood-burning specialist designation.
