Sorority Crush Ideas

A crush party is a low-pressure way to ask your crush out because it is a social function that typically revolves around asking a date out anonymously. A themed social event adds an extra level of fun to the mysteriousness of each invitation. When guests arrive, clues from the card and at the party itself lead them to their crushes.
  1. Soda Crush Party

    • Plan your next crush party with a soda theme by playing off the famous orange-flavored soda -- use the can design as part of your inspiration. At your next chapter meeting, ask everyone to stick around for an extra half hour or so. Pass out blank sheets of paper for each sorority member to write down the names of three people she has a crush on. Writing three names may seem like too many, but it's likely that not all of the crushes invited will be able to attend. Collect the name sheets, and then ask for some artistically inclined volunteers to help make invitations to look like cans of orange soda. If your budget allows, give each potential guest a can of orange soda with the party information tied around it.

    My Tie Party

    • A My Tie party is an entertaining way to surprise your sorority sisters with a mystery date. Depending on how close you are as a house, you may already know who each member has a crush on or would feel comfortable attending the party with. If you aren't sure, have each member submit a list of possible dates to you. In Secret Santa style, pass around a container with each member's name written on individual pieces of paper, and at your next chapter meeting pass the container around for each woman to choose a name. Have each member come to you to receive the list of dates for the woman she chose, and then it will become her responsibility to ask the potential dates if they would be willing to come to the party. If the potential date accepts the invitation, ask him for a necktie. Give each sorority sister her crush's tie to wear on the night of the party. The crush must then find his date by looking for his tie; the women should be left in the dark about the date's identity as well.

    Masquerade Ball

    • Have each sorority member send an invitation to one or two of her crushes for a masquerade party. She can give him hints about what she will be wearing so he can seek her out at the party, or she can leave him guessing about her identity for the evening. Go with a traditional masquerade theme by requiring each guest to wear masks to the party, or take it up a notch by requiring full-on costumes for entry.

    Around the World Party

    • Add some international flair to your next crush party with an Around the World theme. Decorate the rooms of a house to look like different countries of the world. Choose any number of countries you like, but go all out with decorations, music and refreshments to make each room distinct. Have each sorority member send invitations decorated to look like passports to her crush or crushes. Give him clues about which "country" she might be during the party so he can come and find out who invited him.
