How to Pledge a Sorority During Greek Week

You've made it through Rush and Bid Day, so you are ready for the next step. You are getting closer to your goal of pledging your sorority. Pledging your sorority takes place at different times according to the campus you attend. To actually pledge during Greek Week is "rare," so when it happens that week, it is an extra special eventful week.

Instructions

Prepare towards pledging during Greek Week. As a new member after Bid Day, you've had a lot to study and learn about your sorority. Help is usually available from your Big Sis or members of the sorority that have been assigned to help tutor new members during their initiation period. This may differ from campus to campus and usually runs 6 to 10 weeks.

Plan ahead and stay organized. Even though there's a lot going on all around, you are still expected to keep up your grades, attend classes and be present at required meetings. Stay focused on your goals and you'll sail right through this period.

Attend the events of Greek Week as required by your sorority chapter. Some of the events may include opportunities to participate in community service projects. Many campus communities support various competitions or intramural events where you play against other sorority pledges in activities like flag football games, volleyball games and even relays just for fun. Many campuses have musical productions that are performed for the public to make money to support the various service projects your sorority and the others may support.

Pledge during Greek Week. These ceremonies would usually be towards the end of the week. They are a very special part of your sorority life and that's why many chapters end the Greek Week with social events to top off the celebration of pledging and becoming a full member.
