Student Advantage describes itself as an "integrated media and commerce company focused on the higher education market." By partnering with colleges and universities and merchants, the company offers deals on products and services. The primary way Student Advantage gives these deals is through its card, called the Student Advantage Discount Card. By signing up for and activating a card, college students can receive discounts from national or local stores. Student Advantage charges for the card, which can be purchased online or by mail.

Wait for your card to arrive in the mail. Activating before then starts the clock on limited-time enrollment discounts.

Log on to Student Advantage's discount card activation site (see Resources).

Enter the 16-digit Student Advantage Card number, found on the lower left corner of the card.

Enter the three-digit PIN, found immediately to the right of the card number.

Click activate.
