How to Cite a Work Prepared By an Editor Using MLA Style

Anthologies and collections can be valuable sources of information when you are writing a comprehensive term paper involving trends in literature or other types of wide range topics. Often, you will wish to cite an anthology as a whole rather than an individual work in the anthology. When you do this, you give credit to the editor who compiled and commented on the works as well as the authors of unique pieces of poetry or prose contained in the collection. MLA format is ideal for handling this type of citation because it is simple, straightforward and does not require excessive foot notation within your document or following the conclusion of your work. It is very important to credit the editor of an anthology because their work and insight on the contents of the compilation as a whole likely contributed to your own research conclusions. Read on to learn how to cite a work prepared by an editor using MLA style.
