The NCCCO is a non-profit organization developed by the heavy equipment industry to promote performance standards for safe crane operation. The certification ensures operators' professional knowledge and skills meet the industry standards. The Associated Training Services is a training program offering preparation and NCCCO certification testing for crane operators.
The NAHETS is a national group of member schools that train students in heavy equipment operation. After students of a NAHETS member school graduate, they can take the NAHETS heavy equipment operator assessment training test (OPCat) certification.
National certification is available for graduates of heavy machinery training programs as well as currently employed equipment operators. You do not need a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) to attend one of the Associated Training Services schools for heavy equipment operator training.
