Based in San Antonio, Texas, Roadmaster Drivers School features three- and four-week truck driver training programs. Students will receive hands-on driver training for larger trucks that require either a Class A or B commercial driver's license (CDL) operator's license. Roadmaster Drivers School conducts CDL training classes during the day, evenings and on weekends for students' convenience. Student perks offered by Roadmasters include tuition assistance for qualified applicants, job placement assistance and possible prequalified hiring before the conclusion of your training. Through Roadmaster Drivers School, students will learn how to safely and properly operate larger trucks. Open to potential trucking students for more than 30 years, the Amarillo College Truck Driving Academy offers courses lasting three to four weeks, which assist students in obtaining a Class A CDL. At Amarillo College, students practice driving on the campus' eight-plus miles of driving terrain and road course. They are also taught and tested on how to deal with a variety of driving scenarios out in the field. In addition to offering CDL certification courses, Amarillo College can certify truck driving students for forklift operation. Many truck drivers must know how to operate a forklift in order to move shipments from warehouses to trucks and vice versa. Forklift certification only takes 12 hours and can be completed in a matter of three evenings. Amarillo Truck Driving Academy can help students with housing while they're attending school as well. There are dorm rooms available to truck driving academy students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible for anyone wishing to reserve a dorm room.
Based in north and central Texas, ATDS Truck Driving School offers comprehensive training that incorporates both truck driving and tractor/trailer programs. Courses will include actual driving sessions in training areas and on the open road. You'll also receive classroom and textbook lessons. Students will be tested on all parts of the training program in order to receive certification. In addition to training, coursework and classroom sessions, ATDS offers job placement to at least 90 percent of its graduating students.
