Local Trade Schools for Asbestos Certification in Washington

Many old structures still contain their original asbestos insulation, which poses serious health risks, especially in schools and other public buildings. However, because of the dangers associated with asbestos, only workers with the proper AHERA/ASHARA certification can legally remove asbestos. There are a number of programs in Washington that will certify you as an asbestos remover and allow you to work in the field.
  1. RGA Environmental

    • RGA Environmental is an industrial hygiene company that provides asbestos removal and HAZMAT services to the Pacific coast. In addition to its hygiene services, it also provides training for individuals looking to enter the field. RGA's asbestos training courses are held in two locations: Seattle and Emeryville, California. RGA's courses cover a number of different levels of asbestos certification, including building inspection, management planning and project designing. RGA's classes provide accreditation after 24 hours of study spread over three days. It also offers four-hour refresher courses for previously certified workers.

    Argus Pacific

    • Argus Pacific is an industrial hygiene consulting company based out of Seattle and offers services to Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. The company also offers training courses covering hazardous waste, lead, mold and asbestos, many given in Seattle's Fisherman's Terminal. Argus provides AHERA certification for both building inspectors and project designers; it also provides 32-hour certification for asbestos workers and 40-hour certification for asbestos supervisors.

    Cole and Associates

    • Cole and Associates is a workplace engineering and safety firm located in Renton. In addition to consulting and construction management services, the company offers training in health and safety related fields, primarily regarding lead and asbestos.
