Car mechanics are always in demand. Two of the largest auto trade schools, UTI and Wyotech, have campuses across the United States. There are also several smaller schools located over the country that can provide extensive automotive training. Additionally, some community colleges offer a number of automotive mechanic certificates.
Computer and tech schools are located practically everywhere in the United States. ITT Tech, for example, has campuses in 30 states. There are also schools like Carrington College or Unitek College in Northern California that offer a variety of tech certifications and training to work in the medical field. Online schools like University of Phoenix also offer a variety of technology associate's-degree programs online, from information technology to health-care informatics. With one of the many different certifications available from these schools, a teen could find work in diverse fields like network administration or medical assisting.
Teens interested in the culinary arts can learn the finer aspects of food preparation and cooking at trade schools. The Culinary Institute of America, one of the largest culinary trade schools, has campuses in California, Texas, New York and Singapore. Most local community colleges offer training in the culinary arts as well.
Some teens find that they have a flair for the dramatic arts and theater during high school. Several performing arts high schools have sprung up across the country like the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Texas or the Natomas Charter School in California. These schools don't just offer training in acting or dance; they can also train teens in a variety of behind-the-scenes positions.
