Johnson County Community College offers an A.A.S. degree in cosmetology. Located in Overland Park, Kansas, the college provides several options for those pursuing a career in cosmetology, esthetics or nail technology. Students must first obtain a certificate in cosmetology through Johnson County Community College course offerings. Credit hours from this certificate apply toward the A.A.S. degree, which requires an additional 19 additional credits. It fulfills the full cosmetology license prerequisites in the state of Washington, which include 1,400 hours of cosmetology training and 100 hours in esthetics.
