The Memphis Campus of Remington College (remingtoncollege.edu) offers several programs for students, including one in cosmetology. Here both classroom and lab training in an on-site salon teach students the basics in skin, nail and hair care. As a part of the program, each student receives his own styling kit to keep after graduation. The kit includes items they will need as they start their beauty careers, such as shears, rollers, combs and a flat iron. Students can also utilize the Matrix-sponsored employment database to help find a job. Financial aid is available for students that qualify.
The cosmetology curriculum found at the Empire Beauty School (empire.edu) utilizes not only classroom lessons and practical training, but a high level of community involvement. They also learn more than the basics of hair styling, cutting, coloring and cleansing, but also retail training and business development. Financial assistance is available for students that need help paying their tuition.
