Cosmetology Schools for Teens

After high school, teenagers are presented with a lot of opportunities. For a teenager who wishes to fulfill a career in cosmetology, there are numerous cosmetology schools across the country that provide in-depth training and education. A cosmetology program normally consists of 1,400 to 1,600 hours of training and may be finished in a year if taken full time.

    • The Cosmetology Career Center is a Paul Mitchell partner school which provides training programs to teens who wish to pursue a career in the field of cosmetology. The school has been awarded by the American Aestheticians Education Association as a five-star aesthetic school.

      Students get to experience ample hands-on training through the school's facilities and guidance from trained faculty. Field trips are also included in the course to expose students to the industry, providing a unique learning experience.

    Academy of Hair Design

    • The Academy of Hair Design helps students build a strong foundation about cosmetology and guide them to develop their own creative techniques and styles. With 1,800 hours of classes and hands-on training sessions, students learn hair cutting, designing, straightening, perming and coloring.

      The school teaches techniques that are Certified in Learning in Cosmetology (CLiC). Other topics discussed and practiced include skin care, manicure and salon management. In the 1,800 hours required for completion of the course, only 300 hours are spent in the classroom, while the remaining hours are dedicated to practice and training.

    ASM Beauty World Academy

    • ASM Beauty World Academy is a nationally accredited institution which provides students different programs, including cosmetology training. The program consists of classes and training in manicure, acrylic nails, pedicure, facials, wax, makeup, facial massage and masks, hair coloring, hair bleaching and hair styling. Salon management is also taught to students to complete the skills and knowledge required of a cosmetology graduate.

      Students may choose a part time, full time, evening or Saturday class. The Academy also provides financial aid to students who need funding for their studies. Other financial help includes loans and grants. All classes are bilingual, letting both Spanish and English-speaking students have full understanding of the topics discussed.
