Medvance Institute, formerly Cumberland School of Medical Technology, started in 1970 in Cookeville, Tennessee. The school's initial program focused on medical laboratory technician training. The school has institutional accreditation through the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. Medvance offers its medical assistant training courses at four Florida locations including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Stuart and West Palm Beach.
