The Branford Institute in Elizabeth offers a four-week course leading to certification as a phlebotomist. The course is also offered in conjunction with the EKG technician course. Classwork involves lectures and laboratory practice as students are taught how to draw blood in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. The Branford program is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and Department of Labor.
