Founded in the late 1970s, Canadian Tourism College in Vancouver trains students for jobs in the travel and tourism industry. For prospective flight attendants, the school offers a "flight attendant pre-employment diploma" to those who finish a 12-week program specific to the field. Aside from offering safety and emergency procedure courses that are essential to the career, the college also teaches students about the different aircraft they will be working in. The college also provides courses on interviewing techniques and "professional image enhancement." Students must have finished high school in order to be accepted, and international students must obtain a student visa.
