Road Master Professional Driving Schools

People who don't mind spending large amounts of time behind the wheel and want to see the country may find a career in truck driving rewarding. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the occupation is one of the largest in the nation. Roadmaster Driver School is one institution that trains students to drive commercial vehicles, including large trucks. The school has campuses in several states, and offers training that can be completed in a relatively short amount of time.
  1. Admissions

    • Each Roadmaster Drivers School campus has its own admissions staff. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to work within one state, or 21 years old if they want to drive interstate truck routes. A valid driver's license is also required for enrollment, and students must pass a mandatory drug test that is required by the Department of Transportation. Applicants should have a good understanding of traffic signs and be able to keep regular, legible records.

    Training

    • Roadmaster Driver School training prepares students to drive commercial vehicles; graduates are ready to take the test for obtaining a commercial driver license (CDL). Training time varies slightly by campus, but lasts between three to four weeks and includes hands-on truck driving experience. Roadmaster Drivers School also emphasizes the material covered on the commercial driver license exam. Most campuses offer training for both Class A and Class B CDL exams, as well as schedules during day, night and weekend hours.

    Job Placement

    • All graduates of Roadmaster Drivers School programs are afforded free job placement services. The school also has relationships with several companies that are willing to pre-hire students currently in training and reimburse the students for the cost of tuition.

    Campuses

    • Roadmaster Drivers School has 13 campuses, located in large part across the southern part of the United States. The school has three campuses in Florida, two in Oklahoma, and one in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas and Utah.
