The Ontario Truck Driving School specializes in trucks but also offers courses in every class of commercial licenses. Donovan's Driver Education, in the northern city of Edmonton, offers both Class 1 and Class 3 truck driving training. The length of the courses varies from "Refresher" programs, which are 34 hours in total, to "Extended" programs, which include 115 hours of schooling. All courses cover in-truck training and air-brake lessons, while the longer programs teach emergency first-aid and offer on-the-job training with actual local trucking companies. The vehicles available for training are the 1998 Volvo with 18-speed transmission and the 997 Freightliner with 13-speed transmission.

The Valley Driving School, established in 1955, provides more than 100 instructors to teach courses in car, motorcycle and trucking driving. The truck division of Valley Driving School covers Classes 1, 3 and 4. The Class 1 course is divided between long haul/rural trucking and city trucking. The school also has a specific course for loading cargo, which teaches weight distribution and security, and one devoted solely to the National Safety Code.

Metro Truck Driving School in Ontario covers all of the commercial classes. The programs are categorized by Bronze, Silver and Platinum. All programs include both in-class training, with lessons on truck safety and regulations, and in-truck training, both in the yard and on the road. The Platinum program, however, offers a course for air-brake endorsement and training in the transportation of dangerous goods. The school also operates its own online bulletin board of job openings so that students can quickly enter the industry.
