Seattle Motorcycle Mechanical Schools

Motorcycle dealers often do not offer training or maintenance classes, so to understand how a motorcycle functions fully, one must take courses to learn the mechanics. There are several programs in and around Seattle, Washington for motorcycle mechanical training. There are also two technical schools close by that offer automotive classes, and online institutes.
  1. Puget Sound Safety

    • Puget Sound Safety provides training for dirt bikes and motorcycles, from theory to basic riding to maintenance. Their Motorcycle Care and Maintenance Program offers two levels. The Level I course is $95 and six hours long. Enrollment includes a copy of "Motorcycle Owners Manual" by Hugo Wilson. This course, What Every Motorcyclist Should Know, teaches students how to clean, store and adjust your motorcycle. Instructors also go over basic maintenance and explanation of the parts. The Level II course is $150 and is 8 hours long. This course, How It All Works, covers hands-on understanding of the parts, liquids and filters, brakes, speed, alignments and valve maintenance.

They have two locations in the Seattle area. One is in the Ride West BMW Club Room in Seattle. The other closest location is offered in their office classroom in Puyallup, Washington, approximately 35 miles from Seattle. They also have two additional set locations, offered in Olympia and Tacoma. The website also indicates that if you have a large group already, the instructors will come to you.
