Cornell University offers a broad veterinary medicine program with in-depth branches of study including dual degrees and specializations in animal medicine fields. Also home to the Baker Institute For Animal Health, one of the oldest research centers for animal science in the US, opportunities for an excellent veterinary medicine education are abundant at Cornell University.
Michigan State University has been offering veterinary sciences courses since the school was founded in 1855, with the four-year degree program formally established in 1910. The college includes four biomedical science departments, two clinical departments, two service units and a number of research centers. Michigan State is able to handle one of the largest clinical and diagnostic caseloads for animal treatment in the country due to the high agricultural base in the state. This gives students an excellent hands-on education. Michigan State University is renowned for it's animal science degrees, so much so it is sometimes jokingly called "Moo U."

The veterinary medicine school at UC Davis was established in 1948, and is the only one in the University of California system. The school offers training in 32 specializations. Among the 25 different research centers at the school, are in-depth programs investigating tropical diseases and vaccines, AIDS research and human-animal disease research. The school offered the world's first Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine degree program. The program addresses population health, public health and food safety aspects of veterinary practice. Many research discoveries and innovative advances in the field have happened in the program and it is highly rated among its peers.
Since 1916, the University has offered a program of excellence in veterinary medicine. Offering both traditional degrees and specializations in things such as Veterinary Emergency Team, and Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Disease programs, Texas A&M has a broad range of offerings for veterinary medicine students. A teaching hospital offers hands-on education and training, with a commitment to the One Health Initiative, a global movement designed to link animal, human and environmental health together for better research, development and understanding.
