      To be eligible, you must have completed coursework in English, math, physics, biology and chemistry. You must demonstrate computer proficiency and meet residency and immunization requirements. Additionally, you must have first aid certification and successfully pass a security clearance check.

    • The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) has a Centre for Advanced Diagnostic Imaging that provides you with hands-on ultrasound training to prepare you for your career. SAIT is the only other school located near Edmonton where you can pursue training as an ultrasound technician.

      It takes 26 months to complete the program, which includes clinical practicum. To be admitted to the program, you need to successfully complete courses in mathematics, English, biology, physics and chemistry. The program is accredited by the Canadian Medical Association and includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, sonography, echocardiography, medical terminology and physics.
