The Fort Wayne Indiana campus, in an area just outside Indianapolis, offers an information technology software applications and programming program for those seeking an associate of applied science degree. The objective of the IT program is to provide a broad-based foundation in the area of IT and a concentration in software applications and programming. Investigated in classroom and laboratory experiences, students learn programming languages and algorithms, database development and applications and other related technical subjects. The software applications and programming degree at ITT requires a foundation core in computing and general education courses followed by programming applications studies. Class sizes range from 15 to 40 students depending on the course and interested applicants.

Indiana State University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science takes subjects seriously. Butler's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering offers students programs in computer science and in software engineering, as well as minors in computer science. The department is small but challenging with five faculty members and roughly 40 students. Housed in the Fairbanks building, the department maintains two computer labs with 24/7 access, plus high speed wireless Internet throughout.
