GCE Bargur, which was established in 1994, is the youngest of the government colleges in Tamil Nadu. Each year 240 students are admitted to its full-time B.E courses which are offered in four disciplines. Additionally, there is also a part-time B.E. degree awarded in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Admissions to the college are granted based on how students perform in the state's TNPCEE examinations.
