Electrician Apprentice Programs

Electrician apprenticeship programs are commonly part of program offerings at technical colleges and trade schools, and can take up to five years to complete. In addition to rigorous paid on-the-job training requirements, students must also complete a predetermined number of hours gaining supplementary knowledge through classroom instruction. Courses like blueprint reading, motor control and electrical code are just of a few of the academic requirements leading to electrician certification. Electrician apprenticeship programs occasionally lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree.
