Professional Training Centers, or PTC, is an accelerated allied health training program that gives you the opportunity to earn certificates or degrees in less than one year. PTC offers an ultrasound technology program. You must be at least 18 with a valid high school diploma or GED, pass a physical exam and provide a photo ID to qualify for enrollment.

Dade Medical College has programs in ultrasound technology geared toward diagnostic medical ultrasound. The program consists of intervals of book work, lectures, laboratory work and hands-on experience. The course explores obstetric ultrasound, identification of organs, and abdominal and pelvic exams. The program is 91 weeks long and consists of 1,780 clock hours and 102 quarter hours. You earn a diploma upon completion of the program.

ATI Career Training Center’s ultrasound technology program specializes in diagnostic ultrasound technology and medical sonography, including cardiovascular thoracic sonography, obstetrics and abdominal sonography. The programs prepare students to become ultrasound techs or sonographers in hospital or clinical settings and in specialized care facilities. Financial assistance is available.
