Bishop State Community College offers 18 different PTA courses, including anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. Pensacola State College changed its name from Pensacola Junior College and has been awarded the ability to grant bachelor's degrees by the Florida State Board of Education. According to the college, it is nationally ranked as the 18th-best health professions college in the country. The college provides more than 20 different PTA courses, including alternative physical therapy treatments. Entry into this program is competitive, with only one class of students admitted per year. This program requires students to complete a minimum of 48 hours of clinical experience in three different settings.

Darton College offers 15 different PTA courses and numerous prerequisite courses, such as biology and anatomy. Students must successfully complete the prerequisites before admission to the PTA program. The program requires three different clinical experiences totaling 600 hours. These last approximately 15 weeks and are completed at the same time as other coursework. A minimum of 40 hours of clinical volunteer work must be completed prior to application to the program.
