Forensic Digital Imaging, Inc. offers three courses in forensic photography that are taught onsite at law enforcement locations. The first is a three-day course in forensic photography that introduces the methodology of image production standards for evidence. Students are provided with hands-on experience with photography equipment. The remaining two courses are each five days in length and are also offered onsite at law enforcement locations. In the first of these courses students learn about enhancement techniques, image processing and comparison. Students testify in a simulated court proceeding for the final examination. The final course provides instruction in night-scene photography, medical photography, alternated light sources and crime scene and evidence documentation.

The Forensic Digital Photography program offered by Forensic Training Services, Inc. is a three-day workshop for crime scene personnel. The course covers a wide variety of topics, including blood detection, alternate light source photography techniques, flash photography techniques and proper exposure techniques. Students use the equipment and software used by forensic photography personnel including digital cameras, printers and computer systems, to understand the collection and presentation of photographic evidence in legal proceedings.

The University of California - Davis offers three courses in forensic photography: a beginners' course and two for advanced students. Students learn the proper procedures for photographically documenting crime scenes and other law-related investigations. The program is designed for individuals involved in the criminal justice field, including law enforcement officers and criminal investigators. The introductory course in digital forensic psychology introduces students to the equipment and techniques used to produce and enhance digital images. There are two advanced courses, the first of which teaches students photogrammetric principles and the uses of lighting and three-dimensional photography. Case studies are utilized in this course to examine protocols and procedures. The second advanced course explores underwater photography, forensic archaeology and testimony.
