Athens Tech awards technical certificates of completion, diplomas and associate degrees in more than 100 programs at three campuses. The Walton campus is in Monroe, while the main campus, in Athens, is about 24 miles north. A third campus is roughly 60 miles northeast in Elberton. Programs include health care fields such as radiography, health care assisting and dental assisting to interior design, information technology, early childhood care and education, and general business. The school supports eight formal clubs and societies including Lambda Nu, the National Technical Honor Society and the Automotive Club. Athens Tech offers day, evening and weekend classes. Financial aid is available. According to its website, class sizes are small, typically with 20 or fewer students, and over 98 percent of students find careers upon graduation.

Gwinnett Tech is roughly 27 miles northwest of Monroe. It offers more than 45 associate degrees, diploma and certificate programs in areas such as arts & sciences, construction, cosmetology, health sciences, public safety and veterinary technology. Gwinnett Tech supports more than 20 student organizations including special interest organizations, student councils, professional organizations and departmental clubs. Financial aid is available. The school offers day, evening and weekend classes. Gwinnett Tech participates in a study abroad program, offering students academically focused short-term, faculty-led programs throughout Europe. These programs include visits to multinational companies and organizations, guest lectures and selected cultural excursions. Students may also participate in internship programs in Germany.

DeKalb Tech's main campus is roughly 34 miles due west of Monroe, while the Covington campus is about 19 miles south and the Conyers Campus is roughly 22 miles southwest. The first class of 18 students enrolled in electronics technology in 1963. Today, DeKalb tech enrolls about 17,000 students annuallyin 38 professional areas. It offers degree, diploma and certificate programs in automotive, business, computer, electronics, healthcare, industrial and public service fields. Financial aid is available. Besides the Student Government Association, the college sponsors 14 student associations and two national honor societies. Students may take day, evening or weekend classes.
