One of the university's Health Profession Programs, the pre-dentistry program at Houston Baptist University includes the prerequisite courses whose completion is required by the state of Texas before applying for dental school admission. The program is not a major, but a supplementary program to the major of your choice. HBU allows you to choose a major based on your area of interest, but advises you to take a science major as many of its prerequisites overlap with the courses designated for the Health Professions program.

While Texas Southern University doesn't specify a supplementary program for pre-dentistry students, the university does offer all of the courses required in order to apply for dental school. Courses are offered through the Biology major under the 'Pre-Health Professional Track.' Earning a Biology degree in TSU's pre-health track prepares you to pursue a career in medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, optometry or veterinary services. The courses offered are clearly charted on the TSU website; however, be sure to consult with a major advisor to ensure that your degree plan meets all of the necessary requirements.
