Casper College, named after the town in which it is located, has both certificate and AAS tracks for welding students. Those enrolled in the certificate program only need 44.5 credits to graduate, compared to the AAS students who need a minimum of 65 credits. Welding Fabrication, Specialized Arc Welding and Welding Tech Safety are three of the courses available at Casper College's welding program.
Offered at its Welding and Joining Technology Department, the AAS degree of Eastern Wyoming College requires at least 65 credits for completion. Certificate program students only need 30 credits, with 2 extra credits for the Machine Tool Technology track and a reduced 12 credits for specialization in plate welding. EWC welding courses include Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Welding Inspection and Welding Metallurgy.
Part of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, Sheridan College offers a Certificate of Completion in addition to its AAS in welding. The programs require at least 71 credits and 36 credits, respectively. The junior college's welding programs include Thermal Cutting and Oxyfuel Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and Welding Shop.
At the Western Wyoming Community College, students can enroll in the AAS Degree in Welding Technology or a Skills Proficiency Certificate. Three specializations are available: Fabrication Shop Welding, Mine Maintenance Welding and Industrial Plant Welding. While the AAS degree requires up to 67 credits to complete, the certificate only requires about half that number. WWCC's welding programs include Oxyacetylene Cutting, Reading Technical Schematics and Pipe Layout & Fabrication.
