Chippewa Valley Technical College is part of the Wisconsin Technical College System. Chippewa Valley College includes five campuses over five Wisconsin counties. Campuses are located in Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, Neillsville, River Falls, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Chippewa Valley Technical College focuses on its students mastering nine core abilities through degree completion, including critical thinking, mathematics use and science and technology use, among others.
Chippewa Valley Technical College offers 60 associate degree programs, including programs in truck driving, automotive and business management. General education is combined with technical skills to prepare students for the demands of their chosen field. Programs are conducted with a hands-on approach to occupational learning. Programs will need one to two years to complete, depending on the program and the requirements for degree acquirement.
Six certificate program categories are offered by Chippewa Valley Technical College with specific certificates assigned to each category. Business courses, computer-related courses and short-term courses in motorcycle safety are among the various courses available through the college. Certificates must be obtained through the certificate application form. Individuals wishing to obtain a certificate need to register with the college, but there is no need to pay admission fees or go through the admissions offices. Once the certificate application form is submitted and accepted, the student receives first choice in classes needed for certificate completion. Certificates do not require as many classes as associate's programs for completion. After all required classes are completed and passed, the student will submit a certificate completion form with the required college fee.
Apprenticeships are programs designed for students to learn with an experienced worker in the chosen field. Chippewa Valley Technical College sponsors five apprenticeship programs in coordination with the State of Wisconsin: electric line worker, electrician, plumber, sheet metal and steamfitter. Each apprenticeship program requires different tasks for completion. An apprenticeship application must be completed by every student wishing to enter the programs. Each program has individual requirements which need to be reviewed before the application is submitted.
