South Florida Flight Schools

South Florida's warm sunny climate provides accommodating conditions for student pilots to spend many hours in the air and accelerate pilot training. The multiple pilot training facilities offer flight instruction for all types of aircraft from Cessnas to Beechcraft to the most sophisticated multi-engine commercial jets and helicopters. State of the art training aids including flight simulators are offered at several of the facilities.
  1. Aerosim Flight Academy

    • Aerosim operates several flight schools in various United States locations and have been in business since 1989. Their south Florida flight school is located at the North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines. They provide advanced training on multi-engine jet aircraft in preparation for commercial airline employment. Aerosim Flight Academy partners with Broward County College and can be found at the Hollywood North Perry Airport, 7200 Pines Blvd., Bldg 99 in Pembroke Pines.

    ATP

    • ATP Flight School operates out of the Fort Lauderdale Executive Flight Training Center. They are a national organization with locations in multiple states throughout the U.S. They offer their own Airline Career Pilot Program (ACPP) and a Pilot Operations Degree program in partnership with Mountain State University in West Virginia. Training includes courses for multi-engine commercial instrument jet aircraft. ATP is located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Flight Training Center, 2031 N.W. 53rd St., Fort Lauderdale.

    Gulfstream Training Academy

    • Gulf Stream International airlines provides training for commercial pilots on their fleet of Beechcraft 1900Ds which operate in Florida and the Bahamas. Graduate pilots can work as first officers for the airline. The academy also provides assistance with job placement with several commercial airlines. They offer on-campus accommodation during training. Gulfstream Training Academy is located at 3201 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale.

    424 Aviation

    • 424 Aviation offers a pilot training course on their fleet of fixed-wing Cessna aircraft for both career-minded and private individuals wanting to fly for a hobby. They also offer an instrument rating course and commercial multi-engine course. Their state-of-the-art training equipment includes a simulator and AST 300 for instrument training.424 Aviation is located at 13230 SW 132nd Ave., Ste. 20, in Miami.

    American Flyers Flight School

    • American Flyers Flight School, operating out of Pompano Beach Airpark have been operating since 1939. Their training programs range from licensing for private enthusiasts through commercial training for career minded students. Other courses include flight instructor certificate plus online and part-time career pilot programs. They are at the Pompano Beach Airpark, 801 NE 10th St. in Pompano Beach.

    Florida Helicopters

    • Florida Helicopters is a helicopter pilot training facility operating out of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. They offer private and professional pilot programs and specialized courses by certified instructors on R-22 and R-44 helicopters.They serve the international community and are fluent in French and German as well as English. Their program includes instrument training. They can be found at 1745 NW 51st Place, Fort Lauderdale.
