Downtown Aviation operates out of the Dewitt-Spain Airport in downtown Memphis. The school offers training and certification for private, commercial, and instrument pilot ratings, as well as for flight instructor certification. You can also obtain aerobatics, spin and stall, and tailwheel training from Downtown Aviation. The school also has its own fleet of aircraft.

Middle Tennessee State University offers bachelor's degrees in various aviation disciplines, including aerospace administration, aerospace technology, flight dispatch, and professional pilot. The degree with a professional pilot concentration helps you obtain your commercial and multi-engine rating. The School of Aviation operates out of the Murfreesboro Airport and has its own fleet of aircraft, including a Boeing 727 jet.

Wings of Eagles flight school is located at the Smyrna Airport. The school offers private, instrument, and commercial flight training, as well as certified flight instructor rating. The school also has a Motus 6-series simulator, which is a non-hydraulic flight training device approved by the FAA. Wings of Eagles has its own fleet of training aircraft.

Knoxville Flight Training Center operates out of the Knoxville-Downtown Island Home Airport. The school offers private, instrument, commercial, and flight instructor training and certifications. In addition, the school offers recurrent training as well as FAA knowledge testing. Knoxville Flight Training Center also has a mountain flying course, which is targeted specifically to pilots who may fly over mountains such as the Appalachians.
